ESRU LISTENS

ESRU Listens began in 2008 as a result of the concern of Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía, President of the ESRU Foundation Board, to support children with hearing loss, who are often overlooked due to having an invisible physical condition.
The goal of this project is to improve the quality of life for children with hearing loss through financial support to acquire hearing aids, and scholarships so they can attend sessions with a specialized therapist who teaches them to communicate in the most effective way, based on their context.
In 2018, the Espinosa Rugarcía Foundation decided to focus all its efforts on the state of Puebla, due to the significant impact of the ESRU Listens project in this area. The goal is to strengthen the specialization and professionalization of services to consolidate the work with children in Puebla and their families.

Testimonial

I am deeply grateful to all of you who gave me back the hope to move forward with my son. How much better life would be if we encountered more people with such humanity and values—people who have shown they can express the deepest, most genuine feelings. It is truly moving to see the dedication, the passion, and the heart you put into your work. I have witnessed your ability to keep fighting to help deaf children (…) What you did for my son gave me hope for a better future. With deep respect and affection, thank you—for standing up for my son without hesitation.
